accomplishment and reward. In
recognition for the exceptional course,
reputation and community support the race
has been awarded age-group championship

In 2008, the Half-Iron is the USAT National

The Grand Columbian is
committed to creating the best non-WTC Iron

the event regardless of the level of
participation. Even though small in
numbers the support is huge. By
incorporating the race within the other distance
the Iron athlete is part a larger athletic
celebration and never isolated on the course.
Iron athletes receive special handmade
medallions and award recognition. All
age-group awards apply.
IRON PARTNERSHIP
These awards are for
those married couples who race at The Grand
Columbian Triathlon where one partner completes
a one race and one another. These awards are
intended to celebrate the close bonds created
between partners who rise to the ultra distance
challenge. Tongue in cheek, the awards are
likely to be referred to as the “Til Death Do Us
Part” awards.
The winners will be
the married couples who have the fastest
combined times in each of the following distance
categories:
Iron/Iron,
Iron/Half Iron, Half Iron/Half Iron. Special awards will be created
for these couples.
In addition, any
married couple that complete their races will
